Be part of the team
We have over twenty dedicated volunteers that work in our Macduff shop processing donations and selling a wide range of goods to a new home. Our volunteers are very important for our fund raising, usually working a morning or afternoon rota each week. Without these dedicated volunteers, Deveron Disrict Age Concern would not be able to provide local community grants and support to those in need.
Volunteering is something to be proud of and it is a great way to meet new friends in a fun and relaxing environment. You can be sure that no matter how little you are involved you will be making a big difference to those who need support.
We know that each volunteer has their own individual reasons for being part of the team, so we asked our volunteers about their volunteering experience with us. Here are the replies we received:
It helped me meet new friends.
Helped with my confidence after bereavement.
Long lasting friendships have been formed.
I love this shop.
Keeps you active and motivated.
I feel valued.
I feel i am helping the community.
After retirement it gave me a purpose again.
Networking opportunities between organisations.
I'm involved in the community.
Doing some good.
As well as a great way to meet new friends and make a difference our volunteers also get:
- A roll, cake or pie from the local Bakery, per shift.
- Discount on goods purchases in our shop.
- Yearly volunteers day trip, with lunch.
- Christmas meal at a local venue.
- Opportunity to bring forward your own ideas.
If you have a few spare hours each week why not consider becoming a volunteer? If you would like more information about volunteering for us, then please get in touch.Contact Us
