We have over twenty dedicated volunteers that work in our shop processing donations and selling our wide variety of goods to a new home. Our volunteers are very important for our fund raising, usually working a morning or afternoon rota each week.
All our services and income for grants is generated from our shop, which sells donated goods. Without our dedicated volunteers we would not be able to provide any of our services and provide much needed support to those in need.
Volunteering is a great way to meet new friends in a fun and relaxing environment and you can be sure that no matter how little you are involved you will be making a big difference to those who need support.
Volunteering is something to be proud of and you will be helping us to achieve our goal in providing continued long-term support within the local community.
We know that each volunteer has their own individual reasons for being part of the team, so we asked our volunteers about their volunteering experience with us. Here are the replies we received:
It helped me meet new friends.
Helped with my confidence after bereavement.
Long lasting friendships have been formed.
I love this shop.
Keeps you active and motivated.
I feel valued.
I feel i am helping the community.
After retirement it gave me a purpose again.
Networking opportunities between organisations.
I'm involved in the community.
Doing some good.
